While Kraków is still a relatively safe city compared to some other European cities it is still alarming to hear that crimes are on the rise. While murders are still uncommon, rapes are on the rise as are thefts and fraud. We wanted to find out which was the most dangerous district in Kraków and were surprised with the results. Below you will find the Police statistics for 2017 for reported crimes. The districts have been ranked according to ‘least safe’ with 1 being the most dangerous.

Against all odds, the safest district of Krakow is … Nowa Huta with the least ‘serious crimes’ such as murder and rape.

Surprisingly for us, the Old Town is ranked number 1 for crime in Kraków. Although, the high influx of tourists every year is like a magnate to pondlife which is reflected in thefts being much higher than anywhere else. Rapes are second highest and murders joint leader. With nightlife in the center booming, drug offenses are also much higher than anywhere else.
