The competition for Poznań’s best sushi is seriously heating up and with dozen’s of sushi resturants in Poznań it’s impossible to pinpoint the best one. Infact its hard to choose the best 5 but we have added the following sushi restaurants as our current TOP 5 (in no particular order) taking into account several factors including variety of dishes offered, location, quality, atmosphere and a proven track record.

Fujiyama

Wyspiańskiego 26   tel : 600 005 767

Fujiyama is a new restaurant serving Japanese cuisine. The restaurant was created in the City Park complex in Poznań, in the building where UŁAN Browar, Cappuccina and Bagels & Friends are also located. Sushi served in this restaurant came to Poznań from distant Odessa, where for years it enjoyed the recognition of foodies and was reportedly considered one of the best in the country.

With a unique menu divided into 7 parts, each of them devoted to one of the gods of happiness, Fujiyama easily makes it into our top 5. We recommend the KHI soup with salmon, tiger shrimps, mussels, udon noodles, shiitake mushrooms, wakame seaweed, chives and white sesame. Amazing!

Goko

Ratajczaka 18    tel :  61 639 06 39

GOKO Japanese Restaurant attaches importance to quality and tradition. Exquisite taste and interior and a great place for business and social meetings.

Their menu is a culinary journey through Japan created by a passion for Japanese culture where staff will help you make the right choice, teach you how to use chopsticks and talk about Japanese customs at the table. Located in the Apollo passage off ratajczaka street it’s easy to miss but once there you won’t be dissapointed. World class!

KYOKAI SUSHI BAR

ul. Wojskowa 4     tel : 519 376 182

The City Park development just to the west of the centre (past the Trade Fairs) is home to some of the city’s best eating establishments and this is true for Kyokai, one of Poznań’s most notable Japanese efforts. Laid out over two floors, Kyokai features sushi sets revolving around a circular bar, while a sushi sensei multitasks in the thick of it all. Set in a series of converted red brick buildings, the surroundings look chic and sexy, as do the clientele. Definitely one to check out, take tram 13 form the city centre to the ‘Wojskowa’ stop.

YuZu

Roosevelta 22    tel : 502 396 062

Just when you think the sushi market in Poznań is saturated, along comes YuZu with something completely different: Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine. Known as Nikkei, this splendid combination of Japanese cooking techniques and fresh Peruvian ingredients originated thanks to the influx of Japanese immigrants to South America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. At this upscale eatery on the west side of the railroad tracks, you will find futomaki with quinoa, acevichado rolls, and tiradito – a Japanese take on ceviche.

Matii

Plac Andersa 5      tel : 61 850 50 20

The only sushi restaurant in Poznań awarded with a yellow hat in the prestigious culinary critics competition Gault & Millau Poland 2018!

Finding yourself in the yellow guide is a huge honor for restaurants and getting prestigious caps means an outstanding cuisine. Every year, Gault & Millau secret inspectors visit selected restaurants and evaluate them according to strictly defined criteria.  It goes without saying that Matii is in our TOP 5!
