1. Zakopane – Kasprowy Wierch

length: 5400 m

height difference: 927 m

average slope: 17%

The longest ski route in Poland is, of course, in the highest mountains – in the High Tatras. It leads from Kasprowy Wierch through Kocioł Goryczkowy to Kuźnice. The upper part of the route is very demanding and intended only for experienced skiers. For obvious reasons, it is marked in black. It is also the highest located ski route in Poland. It starts at an altitude of almost 2000m. It is also a route with record height differences for Polish conditions – almost a kilometer! For reasons of environmental protection (the route is located in the Tatra National Park) it is not artificially snowed. For this reason, the skiing conditions on it are strongly dependent on the supply of fresh powder. The route is passable all the way to Kuźnice only in very snowy winters.
