Sep 18 2020 : The UK is considering locking down the country again, according to foreign media. The decision on a new lockdown is to be made next week. As reported, among others The BBC, England’s Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty and Patrick Vallance’s Chief Government Research Adviser have appealed to Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the lockdown issue. They warned the head of the government that if appropriate measures are not taken in this regard, the number of SARS-CoV-2 infections in the country may again drastically increase.

Although, Johnson on Wednesday announced that another lockdown could result in an economic disaster and British Health Minister Matt Hancock said lockdown is “the last line of defense”. According to the media, the Lockdown of Great Britain would initially be introduced for two weeks. The British government also released a statement on Wednesday on a whopping 3,991 new infections reported on Tuesday, the highest figure since Friday, May 8. Let us also add that the Austrian chancellor has already announced the entry into the second wave of the coronavirus.
The country has seen a significant increase in new cases of SARS-CoV-2 in recent days. From Monday, stricter restrictions apply again, including wearing masks.

The question is if the rise in new cases is down to more testing being done? It makes sense as testing becomes more efficient, cases will rise. So why are governments thinking of second lockdowns? It’s crazy!
