A special bus line in Warsaw is a pilot project that is supposed to provide emergency help for the homeless. Its first purpose is to allow people to move between important points, such as night shelters, dining rooms or clinics.
The Mobile Counseling Center (MPP) will also visit railway stations and other locations where homeless people usually stay.
In addition, volunteers will be on duty on the bus. They are street workers from the Association of Social Assistance. They will provide passengers with information and advice. They will also talk to homeless people at bus stops and invite them to use the Mobile Counseling Center.
Volunteers are also trained in providing first aid when such a need arises.
Especially when the temperature starts to drop below zero, the bus will also serve as a shelter from frost, where volunteers will give passengers a cup of warm tea. The free bus will run daily from 7:00 to 12:30 and from 17:00 to 21:40 and will stop in April.
