Smoking cigars used to be associated with high powered businessmen and the rich. Things have changed over the years and chilling for an hour or 2 in the company of friends, with a glass of whiskey in a cigar lounge is fast becoming cool. And it’s not only males doing it. We met up with the experts at Caballero Cigar and Whiskey Bar to find out which are the en vogue cigars right now and what is going to trend in the future.

The Partagas Serie D no.4 from Cuba is probably the most smoked Cuban cigar in the world. Very strong smoke with plenty of woody flavors. Expect to pay around 55 PLN

The Avo Syncro is from Nicaragua and is owned by Davidoff, The leaves are collected from a Vulcan region on an island called Ometepe which gives the cigar a salty caramel flavor. Expect to pay between 50PLN and 56PLN depending on the size.

One of the rarest Cuban cigars, extremely limited and exclusive is the Cohiba Behike 52 which is made from medio tiempo leaves which are rarely found at the top of sun-grown plants and deliver exceptional character and taste. Expect to pay 180 PLN.

Probably the strangest cigar is the Total Flame M72. It is the only cigar with a hint of Russian tobacco and owned by Russian Motorbike riders, although it is made in Nicaragua. Even the shape is like a torpedo. Expect to pay around 72 PLN

The My Father CT is a very mild and smooth cigar from Nicaragua but rapped from leaves from Ecuador. Ideal first cigar, smooth and creamy and not too intense. Expect to pay between 39PLN and 58 PLN.

The upcoming new brand Principal Cigars by Darren Coffi, who is the World Cigar smoking champion, is the new upcoming cigar to try. Together with Hendrik Kelner Jr who is the son of the master blender for Davidoff Cigars, Principal cigars are the current trending cigar to look out for

Gurka cigars with infused alcohol. Hartfield has bourbon and Abuelo has rum from Panama. Very different experience from a normal cigar and perfect after a meal or as a gift because of the packaging. A mild cigar.

A big thanks to Caballero Cigar and Whiskey Bar in Poznań for their advice
