Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk – in each of these cities, you will find new places opening up all the time. Home-made pasta, Zanzibar coffees, or the newest vegan place. These are our top picks…

1. Gdynia: MORA

Gdynia’s MORA is a city bistro, decorated in a shipyard atmosphere, where you will get tasty street food, original liqueurs, cocktails and original breakfasts.

They take street food seriously and on the menu, you will find seven burgers (the beef can be exchanged for a beetroot cutlet), and you can order each of them in a classic version, double or mini version, which is a great solution if you want to try several at once.

We recommend breakfast on weekend mornings because you will get a glass of wine or prosecco for PLN 1 with your breakfast!

The menu also includes classic fries, carrot or sweet potato fries and balls, i.e. breaded cheese, vegetables or falafels served with various sauces. There are also hot dogs, fries with various toppings and snacks waiting for you – but you have to check it out for yourself!

2. Gdańsk: Pili Pili Cafe & Drink Bar

A cafe that will take you to the wonderful Zanzibar and let you discover the flavors of Africa.

Wojtek opened the cafe after he fell in love with Zanzibar on his trip there. He opened a hotel on site – Pili Pili House, and later decided to move a piece of the paradise island to Gdańsk. The place welcomes you with a warm atmosphere from the doorway, with lots of African-style decorations. There is even a hammock for guests to chill.

Pili Pili is a place where you can drink real Zanzibar-style coffee and drinks popular on this remote island.

They specialise also in fruit coffees with mango, banana or pineapple and coconut milk! We recommend though the owners concoction, Pili Pili fruit salad with passion fruit ice cream, mango and pineapple flooded with warm whiskey. If you get hungry, you can also count on dry bagels, e.g. with guacamole and pomegranate, or three types of panini and salads.

At Pili Pili, you must also try an original breakfast such as oriental fruit, passion fruit jam, guacamole, cheese, cold meats, bread and a fruit and vegetable smoothie. Make sure to order them during your morning visit!

3. Gdańsk: Warzywina

All vegans and vegetarians, who sometimes miss the flavors of grandma’s cuisine, should go to Warzywina. Many dishes in the restaurant in Gdańsk Zaspa are inspired by home cooking. But just in case, there is also a veggie burger or wrap that your grandmothers probably didn’t prepare.

At lunchtime, you will get, among others vegetable meatballs in tomato sauce, cabbage soup, Ukrainian borscht or vegetable goulash with groats. Thanks to solid portions you will not be disappointed!

Vegetable wraps are another tasty item on the menu. Choice of falafels with roasted hemp seeds and homemade kimchi. We guarantee you won’t leave hungry!

4. Sopot: Parmesan

Parmesan in Sopot, located in the very center of the city, is for the real pasta enthusiast. Thanks to freshly made pasta everyday, you can expect your taste buds to explode!

The pasta dishes include classic aglio olio peperoncino, tagliatelle a’ragu or black tagliolini with seafood. Vegetarians can choose between linguini with tofu, ginger and garlic and a large stuffed tortellini in two vegetable versions: with spinach, ricotta and sage sauce on white wine or with potatoes, truffles and boletus sauce.

The menu also includes lasagne, gnocchi (they are even in a sweet pumpkin version with raspberry sauce and sage butter) and wine appetizers. Delicious!

5. Gdańsk: Oranżeria Restaurant & Coctail

The Orangery is located in the Gdańsk Garrison and is a place full of life, and at the same time one where everyone will feel good. The relaxed atmosphere and the perfectly composed menu make you want to come back here.

The Orangery serves an excellent breakfast every morning between 7:00 and 11:00. There are omelets in 4 ways, classic scrambled eggs and fried eggs with bread and extras, sausages, bagels, sandwiches, and pancakes with cottage cheese, porridge, rice in milk and a fruit bowl.

In addition, the restaurant has opted for an open kitchen, so while eating, you can watch the chefs at work.

In the menu valid from 12:00 you will find, among others small plates with stewed shrimps, poultry liver in bacon or beef tartare or large plates with among others Thai chicken, schnitzel with a fried egg or BBQ ribs.
